The above extract from this superb narrative illustration of the disembarkation from HMS Campbeltown shows Captain Donald Roy's kilted Liverpool Scottish Assault troops racing across the shattered caisson towards their target -  the guns on top of the Pumping Station roof; while immediately behind, Lieutenant 'Hoppy' Hopwood's Protection team descends a bamboo ladder close to the top of which kneels Bren-gunner Fusilier Bill Mattison, 3/2 Commando.
